Short Documentary/Musical:Gabriel Ferrandini, renowned drummer and composer, and Ricardo Toscano, virtuoso saxophonist, are two prominent figures in the music industry, pushing boundaries and challenging conventions in the vast universe of jazz. For the first time, these two extraordinary musicians are joining forces in an original project. The fusion of Ferrandini and Toscano's distinctive skills promises a musical experience that transcends the boundaries of conventional jazz. The combination of rhythmic and melodic elements, combined with the maturity of their careers, creates a unique synergy. Conceived and produced by composer and music producer Eduardo Queiroz, Unpredictable Sessions invites two of Portugal's greatest jazz icons, drummer Gabriel Ferrandini and saxophonist Ricardo Toscano, to a recording session where nothing is pre-arranged. Everything is created in the moment in a unique challenge. The focus is on music in its rawest form, which flows through each artist and materialises into the purest artistic expression, loaded with memories, intuition and interactivity. In addition to the album, a film directed by Lucas Dutra was produced at the same time, with cinematography by João Castro, which captures the creative process through the eyes of its protagonists and shares a unique and genuine world with the public.
The film, acclaimed at various international film festivals, won best documentary film at the Tokyo Film Awards and the Cine Paris Film Festival and was a finalist at the 7&th Music Film Festival, the International Sound & Film Music Festival, the Lonely Wolf festival and FilmHaus Berlin.
